 TEMPLE HISTORY

During the marriage celebrations of Lord Shiva with Sri Umadevi, all the Devars, saints, Rishis and Munis assembled at Mount Kailash. Due to this the north lowered and south part of this earth raised up. So Lord Shiva sent Sri Agasthiyar to the south to balance this earth. Sri Agasthiyar created lot of Shiva temples & worshiped during his stay and spread Lord Shiva’s glories. One such temple is this Padiri Shiva temple.

This temple is situated at Padiri Village, in Kanchipuram Dist on the way between Melmaruvathur to Vandavasi,  Thondai  Mandalam. The Ramapuram a big Village is near by. Lord Shiva is here with Sri Kamatchi wearing the padiri flower garland.

The main profession of this village is agriculture and weaving and the people are ardent devotees  of lord Shiva. Lord Shiva here has the power of attraction and blesses his devotees. Ambal is in a standing posture with a smiling face. The temple has the sannadhis for Sri Ganapathy, Sri Vallidevasena Sri Shanmugar sitting on a peacock, which faces north, is unusual. Also has the sannadhis for Bairavar and Suryan.

Thiruporur Chidambaram Swamikal used to worship lord Shiva with Virudhachalam Guru Sri Kumaradevar. During one of the pooja time a peacock was appeared. When asked the meaning of this to his Guru and he  replied that he has to get the answer only from Madurai Sri Meenakshi. After 48 days thabas, Sri Meeakshi Amman appeared and told that his birth's purpose is to reconstruct the Mugugan temple of Thiruporur. Then  he started towards Thiruporur.

On the way he stayed at Mailam Murugan Temple and this Padiri Village. He worshiped Lord Shiva of Padiri to complete his mission. During his stay at Padiri, he gave the explanation to the Thiruvasakam, Thirusathakam section-8 anathathu to Sri Ganambigai. Pleased by the explanation she gave one varagan. Sri Chidambaram Swamikal used this one varagan  as a first money for the reconstruction of Sri Murugan Temple of Thiruporur.

Hearing all the miracles of Lord Shiva, Devotees started doing poojas at the feet of Lord Shiva after reading the Thiuvasakam Ananthathu portion. Lord Shiva answered all the devotees full heart  prayers with tears from their eyes.

ஸ்தல வரலாறு.

ஸ்ரீ கைலாயத்தில், ஸ்ரீ கைலாச நாதருக்கும் உமா தேவிக்கும் திருக்கல்யாண நிகழ்வு நடக்கையில், ஸ்ரீ கைலாசநாதர் அகத்திய மகரிஷியைய்ப் பார்த்து தெற்கே சென்று சிவவழிபாடு செய்யும்படி ஆசிர்வதித்து அனுப்பி வைத்தார். ஆகத்திய மகரிஷியும் திராவிட தேசம் வந்து இங்கே பல சிவாலயங்களை நிறுவி சிவ வழிபாடு செய்து சில வழிபாட்டின் சிறப்பை உலகம் அறிய செய்தார். அதன் பின்னர் வந்த பல ரிஷிகளும், மகான்களும், சித்தர்களும் பல சிவ ஆலயங்களை அமைத்து சிவனை மைய்யமாகக் கொண்டு சீரும் சிறப்புமாக பெருவாழ்வு வாழ்ந்தார்கள். அவ்வாறு தோன்றிய பல சிவ ஆலயங்களில் ஒன்று தான் இந்த பாதிரி சிவஸ்தலம்.

தொண்டை மண்டலத்தில், காஞ்சிபுரம் மாவட்டம் மெல்மருவத்தூரில் இருந்து வந்தவாசி செல்லும் சாலையில் இராமபுரம் அருகில் பாதிரி மரங்களால் சூழப்பட்டு, பாதிரிப்பூக்களைப் பரவசமாக சூடிக்கொண்டு பரம்பொருளாக வீற்றிருக்கும் ஸ்ரீ காமட்சி உடனுறை ஸ்ரீ கைலாசநாதரின் புண்ணிய க்ஷேத்திரம்தான் பாதிரி.

சிவ சிந்தை நிறைந்த உழவு மற்றும் நெசவுத் தொழில் புரியும் சிவநேச செல்வர்கள் நிறைந்த ஊராக இவ்வூர் இருந்து வந்துள்ளது. ஸ்ரீ கைலாசநாதர், பார்ப்போரை ஈர்க்கும் வண்ணம் கருனைக்கடலாக இருந்து பேரருள் பாலிக்கின்றார். நித்தமும் அருள் புரிந்து நிம்மதியை தருவதற்க்காக கடைக்கண் பார்வையோடும், கருனை உள்ளத்தோடும், எங்கும் காணக்கிடைக்காத அருங்காட்சியாக ஸ்ரீ காமாட்சி அம்மன் நின்ற கோலத்தில் அருள்பாலித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றார். மேலும் ஸ்ரீ கணபதி, ஸ்ரீ சண்முகர் வள்ளி தெய்வானை மற்றும் பல பரிவார தேவதைகளுடன் அமையப் பெற்றதே இப்பாதிரி சிவ ஸ்தலம்.

லிங்கத்தை வழிபட்டு வாழும் வீரசைவர் இனத்தை சேர்ந்த மகான் திருபோரூர் சிதம்பர சுவாமிகள் விருத்தாசலம் குமாரதேவரிடம் சிஷ்யராக சேர்ந்து பணியாற்றினார். பூசை செய்யும் தருவாயில் அவருக்கு மயில் தெரிந்தது. அதைப் பற்றி குமாரதேவரிடம் விண்ணப்பம் கேட்க, அவர் மதுரை மீனாட்சி அம்மனிடம் விளக்கம் கேள் என்றார். 48 நாட்கள் தவம் இருந்து பல சோதனைகளுக்குப் பின் தரிசனம் பெற்று இத்திசைக்கு வடபால் முப்பது யோசனைக்கு அப்பால் உள்ள குமரன் ஆலய சீர்திருத்தப் பணி செய்யப்பட வேண்டும் என்பதே உன் பிறப்பின் நோக்கம் என்று அருள் பாலித்தார்கள்.. அம்மனின் ஆணையினை சிரமேற்க்கொண்டு சிதம்பரம் சுவாமிகள் திருப்போரூர் நோக்கி பயணம் செய்தார்.

மயிலம் முருகன் ஆலயத்தில் தங்கிப் புறப்பட்டு வரும்போது பாதிரி கிராமத்தில் சிவ சிந்தனை நிறைந்த ஞானாம்பிகை அம்மாள் வீட்டில் தங்கினார்கள். .தான் எடுத்த பணி செவ்வனே முடிய வேண்டும் என்பதற்க்காக அங்குள்ள ஸ்ரீ கைலாசநாதரை வழிபட்டு வந்துள்ளார்கள். திருவாசகத்தில் உள்ள திருச்சதகம் பிரிவு -8 ஆனந்தத்து அழுங்கல் என்ற அதிகாரத்தில் வரும் புணர்ப்ப தொக்க எந்தை என்னை ஆண்டு பூண நோக்கினாய் என்ற பாடல்களுக்கு ஞானாம்பிகை அம்மாள் விளக்கம் கேட்க சுவாமிகளும் விளக்கவுரை அளித்து அப்பாடலையே கைலாசநாதரிடம் பாடிப் பிராத்தித்தார்கள். சில காலத்திற்க்குப் பிறகு ஞானாம்பிகை அம்மாளிடம் ஆலயத்திருப்பணிக்காக ஹரி ஓம் என்ற முதல் முதலாக ஒரு வராகன் காசுகள் பெற்று திருப்போரூர் சென்று திருப்பணி முடித்தார். திரு கந்தனின் அருள்பாலிக்கப் பெற்றார்கள்.

இப்பெருமையையும் சூட்சுமத்தையும் அறிந்து அன்பர்கள் ஒவ்வொறு நற்காரியம் செய்யும் முன்னும்  ஸ்ரீ கைலாசநாதரின் திருப்பாதத்தில் தன பூசை செய்து திருவாசகத்திற்க்கு உருகார் ஒரு வாசகத்திற்க்கும் உருகார் என்ற பெருமைக்கு ஏற்ப திருவாசகத்தில் உள்ள ஆனந்தத்து அழுங்கல் பாடி வழிபட்டு புனித காரியங்கள் ஆரம்பித்து செவ்வனே செய்து முடிக்கின்றார்கள். பல அன்பர்கள் தங்கள் கவலைகள் பலவற்றையும் ஸ்ரீ கைலாசநாதரிடம் சொல்லி கண்ணீர் சிந்தி வழிபட்டு கவலைகள் நீங்கி பெருவாழ்வு வாழ்கின்றார்கள்.
